Healthy Aging: The Comparator Group
One of the most important things to keep in mind about healthy aging is the comparator group. Lean humans that don't eat super late are already time-restricted and are unlikely to get benefits from more dietary rules.

if the control group is ad libitum fed, the dietary restricted group will be healthier
if you're a lean human, you cannot assume you will be healthier with dietary restriction -
time restricted feeding clearly shows better fitness than ad lib for animals that eat all the time

bc many humans have anxiety about aging, it's easy for researchers to extrapolate from a worm, fly or mouse result to make recommendations based on these mechanisms--you do not want to be on the receiving end of hype

in the human context, calorie deficit essentially produces wt loss. this will be beneficial for some but not ppl who are already lean

protein restriction & mTOR inhibition don't make a ton of sense to me either as general strategies for healthy aging--you really want to maintain skeletal muscle mass & function. i really don't think that ppl want to age like growth hormone-deficient animals

i do think there's a role for NR to promote resiliency as we age but the thing to remember is that there is no magical hack

maintain high physical & mental activity & social engagement, eat well & not too much, avoid nonprescribed drugs & alcohol, don't smoke, avoid violence
