I committed to taking a year long mental health break from Feb. 2022 to Feb. 2023 and have completed that.
So what am I doing there and why do I think Polygon has a lot of potential despite its problems? -
2/ I left Flashbots in Feb. 2022 because despite thinking previously that I had my mental health issues under control, I did not and needed more time to work with my doctors and therapist to improve myself. I am forever grateful to the Flashbots leadership and co-workers,

3/ particularly @phildaian, who were supportive of me and my challenges. Throughout the next 12 months I worked with my mental health team to get my medicines right and learn how to be less obsessed with crypto and working. Crypto has been my life since 2014 (arguably 2011) and

I spoke at Devcon6 last year about this for anyone interested: https://t.co/zserZEwcPY -
5/ Last October, members of Polygon's leadership approached me about working for Polygon full time. I have been an advisor to Polygon since the beginning and even had calls with @MihailoBjelic well before launch about the ideas and vision of Polygon. These past 2 years I've been

6/ advising them I have seen them grow tremendously and succeed at many aspects of their goals. Although the plan last year was for me to eventually join Polygon, I completed my break first. From my time interacting with Polygon I can definitively say the following:

1. Polygon is aligned with Ethereum's values and Ethereum's success.
2. Polygon believes that there is no silver bullet to scaling, which is shown by what they work on and open source to the community. -

3. Polygon and some of those representing Polygon have not communicated the above very well to the community & at times has been overly combative.
4. Polygon plans to take steps to better communicate their commitment to helping Ethereum scale with community at the forefront. -
9/ I do not want to imply that I am responsible for fixing or shepherding any of those 4 points. You should not trust me that any progress will be made on their end because I want people to be convinced by the changes Polygon makes rather than my word.

10/ At Polygon I will be primarily working with the governance team while also helping where I can across other areas of the organization. Although it is week 1, I am thrilled at the kindness and competence of those I have met so far.

11/ You may be hearing more from me about Polygon, but what I more want to accomplish is helping Polygon and the rockstars in the org find their voice in social media and beyond, which means I will be retweeting many of my teammates and shilling their discussions :)

12/ This will come across as corny, but I legitimately think there is a place for all of the projects working to make Ethereum better to interact with respect and knowledge sharing, even if they are competitors.
