1. Lifting weights for a quality life. The gym is the difference between independence & the nursing home. Strength training is both my retirement & insurance plan in one.

2. Cardio for a longer life. A higher VO2 max is correlated with longevity & greater lung capacity. -
3. I'm prioritizing family. You don't get to re-live your kid's childhood again. The biggest regret of a high achiever is missing their children's lives.

4. I'm putting my phone away every day once work is done until the kids go to bed. They need my presence more than presents. -
5. I'm investing in my relationship with my wife every single day. We're partners in life & the grass is always greener where you water it.

6. I'm investing in community & friendship. A good life is cultivating relationships with the people that I love & those that inspire me. -
7. Focusing on the quantity & quantity of my sleep. This will help me stay energetic while protecting my brain & body from disease.

8. Eating a whole food nutrient dense diet for my mental & physical health.
9. Keeping my body around 15% body fat for good health & lifestyle. -
10. Walking 2-3 miles a day. Walking is the most underrated habit for your brain & body as well as longevity.
— Dan Go (@FitFounder) June 24, 2023
11. Doing stretches every day to stay flexible, mobile & injury free.
12. Taking care of my knees, hips & low back because I'm going to need them as I get older. -
13. Focusing on my Ikigai meaning I'm working on something that I enjoy that changes people's lives while getting paid handsomely to do it.
— Dan Go (@FitFounder) June 24, 2023
14. Doing meditation & breath work. These are literal cheat codes for managing your stress, emotions & reactions to events. -
15. Having hard conversations. A ton of regret comes from not saying what needs to be said. The harder the conversation the easier life becomes.
— Dan Go (@FitFounder) June 24, 2023
16. Saving & investing. I want to set my family up for when I pass away. Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world. Use it. -
17. Developing a relationship with myself. There's a difference between loneliness & solitude. Your relationship with yourself is the difference.
— Dan Go (@FitFounder) June 24, 2023
18. Reading as many books as time will allow me to read. Books are distilled wisdom in a few hundred pages. -
19. Learning how to manage my emotions. Humans are emotional creatures. It's better to learn how to harness them than let them control you.
— Dan Go (@FitFounder) June 24, 2023
20. Running my own race. Comparing myself to others is wasted energy. I'll take others as inspiration but avoid the dread of comparison. -
I'm sure I've got more but I'll stop there.

A good life is about minimizing regrets. I'm doing these in my middle age so I can look back on my life with pride later on.

21. Being a “yes and” instead of a “yes but” person. The former adds to conversations. The latter shuts it down.
22. Making “situational awareness” a value in my life. This means not burying my head in my phone & being more aware of my surroundings. This can save lives. -
23. Spending as much time outdoors as I can. I won’t regret spending time in nature. I will regret spending too much time indoors.

24. Finding the positive in every situation. Even the worst of times have silver linings. There is always opportunity in every crisis.
