Mistake 1:

Not considering WHY you make the plays that you make.
Always ask yourself: "Why did I make that play?"
It doesn't matter if the play or answer wasn't great.
If you think about the reasoning behind your play, you will improve each time. -
Mistake 2:

Not thinking about why your opponent does what they do.
Similar to the point above, you also need to think about THEIR decisions.
What were they hoping to accomplish with that play, and why?
This will help understand their strategies and how you can beat them. -
Mistake 3:

Making decisions solely out of fear.
Many players will overplay a good hand on the flop because they fear a scary turn card coming.
Often it leads to them mostly getting money in when they're beat.
Always make your decisions based on strategy (not emotions) -
Mistake 4:

Playing outside of your means.
People underestimate the variance in poker.
Many are playing games that they only have a few buy-ins for.
If you want to have a sustainable career, either as a pro or a semi-pro, you need to take bankroll management seriously -
Mistake 5:

Caring too much about what other people think of you.
Don't worry about people at the table judging your plays.
Make the plays that you think are the most profitable and don’t worry about potentially looking silly.
It's your money. Do what you want with it! -
