Easter is about beauty in brokenness. It’s about a death and a resurrection. It’s new life and a completely new way to live.

As C.S. Lewis said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”

Easter is God’s rescue mission for those who need help.

Jesus came for the sick, the brokenhearted, the bankrupt. He came for those whose lives haven’t turned out how they’d hoped, for those who can no longer quietly suffer under the weight of their burdens.

Jesus offers rest.

Is this news too good to be true? That’s what we’re taught. That’s what the world reinforces.

We’re told we’re only as valuable as we are useful.

We’re told life is hard and unfair, and also that we get what we deserve.

So strive and fight for money, fame, power, and good PR.

On the Cross, Jesus became the ransom for the world and the new king, enthroned by self-sacrificial love for his enemies.

Through Him, you are fully known, completely loved, and beckoned into relationship.

There’s now nothing to fear, nothing to lose, and nothing to hide.

Jesus offers a freedom found nowhere else.

He is the gentle and lowly king, and he wants a relationship with you. He knows you, knitted you together in your mother’s womb, and adopts you as his son or daughter.

Under his reign and rule, we become who we were made to be.

This isn’t a fairy tale, or an allegory.

Jesus literally died and three days later was resurrected. This historical truth is the turning point of all reality and the validation of Jesus’s outlandish claims.
