If you film an episode, there are a bunch of ways you can repurpose it.

What if the point of going on a podcast wasn’t the podcast itself?

What if going on podcasts was a significant part of your content creation strategy?
By simply showing up to speak, you can produce blog posts, newsletters, and social media content. -
Here’s how it works:

You accept an interview request with the understanding that you’ll be provided with the video recording afterward and allowed to repurpose the content however you see fit. Meaning you can clip it, transcribe it, turn it into blog posts, graphics, etc. -
1. Podcast interview
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
Record the interview on video even if it’s an audio podcast. This will give you more repurposing options.
Stay for a few minutes after recording the show to build your relationship with the host and explore any collaboration and partnership opportunities. -
2. Transcript
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
Once the host gives you the recording, transcribe it using an automatic transcription tool. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just so you, or your team, can quickly find the best things you said.
You could also hire a repurposing agency to do this for you. -
3. Clips
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
Make short clips of the best moments you found in the transcript and post on YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, Twitter, etc. -
4. Quote graphics
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
Edit the transcript of your best moments down to short quotes and turn them into quote graphics. These can be posted on social media by themselves or embedded in other places like a blog post (next). -
5. Blog post
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
Use the transcript of your best moments from the podcast as a starting point for a blog post. Expand on the outline and flesh out your ideas. You can also embed your quote graphics in the post. -
6. Newsletter
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
Send the blog post you wrote as an issue of your newsletter. Or if it’s especially long, you can link to the post on your blog from your newsletter. -
7. Social
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
In addition to posting clips from the podcast, you can condense the blog post into a Twitter thread. Then screenshot the thread and repost it as LinkedIn and Instagram carousels. -
8. More interview requests
— Nathan Barry (@nathanbarry) June 7, 2023
From one podcast, you’re able to produce clips, threads, a blog post, newsletter, and carousels which you can post on social media to increase your visibility. You’ll end up getting on even more podcasts and feeding the flywheel. -
