I believed I had to assert my authority right away. All that was revealed was my ignorance and overinflated ego.
Humbly asking informed questions is the early move of enduring leaders. -
You make your team nervous.

No matter how calm and relaxed you are, change fires up the lizard brain in everyone. And you represent a threat.
So your words matter. Your actions matter. Even your body language is being scrutinized. -
You need to establish a cadence quickly.

Your team needs to know how and when to engage you. Without you clearly creating these openings, they tend to hang back.
As a result, you miss out on valuable info and the chance to build strong relationships. -
