Indigenous People of Canada Fighting for Rights
The Indigenous people of Canada are finally making a stand and fighting for their rights. They are expected to be able to win the right to get a huge piece of all new and mining projects. They have the patience and the will to take on this fight.

This is absolutely huge. Far beyond what the market expects. The Indigenous people of Canada have been pushed around and ignored for a very long time and I expect will make making a major stand finally now https://t.co/sMpy9FgQ0v

The Province gets its say and so does the Federal government. In due course so will the First Nation people. I expect they will be able to fight for and win the right to get huge piece of all new and mining projects. They have the patience and the will to take their time

The #uranium would could be in for a huge shock as this sort of uncertainty will undoubtedly delay an new major mine start ups in the province. Because few will step up and finance them until this matter is resolved. Could tie things up for 5 years? Maybe 10?

Supreme Court has already established precedent in my opinion. Nothing can proceed with out FN approval. And it looks like that approval is finally gonna cost real dollars not just some crumbs. (And no more bribing a few members of band councils to approvals of shit deals)

I spent a lot of time with the First Nation people in Sask and Alberta (some Manitoba as well). I’ve heard the stories of who’s been on the take. One of the indicators I was told is that ‘all you have to do is look at the corrupt band members house and car compared to others’

Going forward approvals will require referendums on treaty lands. To win the vote everyone will need to benefit meaningfully and the people will also need to be assured that the land and its water resources will be protected.

Mining execs try to brush off this issue when talking to investors, and Bay and Wall Street analysts. A major reevaluation is coming imho. Just look at the Northern Territory in Australia for precedent https://t.co/GPrg5rbPmo

One of the richest most valuable mining assets in the world. High uranium content as well as high grade gold (my two favs).

Traditional owners have veto rights over future development of Jabiluka -
This development if it plays out like I think (protracted fight all the way up to the Supreme Court) will create a massive hold in the uranium market pundits models for future near term supply. Massive

Once again I’ll sure be attacked by people long companies that might be effected. But this ain’t no FUD. It’s a serious issue and until resolved there won’t be serious investment and possibly not even full permits issued. Politically it’s a football many won’t want to touch.
