🙄 Aaaanyway, came on here to let folks know I'm locking my account and going silent after today. Not deleting bc I don't want anyone else grabbing my username, but there's no point for me in being here anymore. I'm on Twitter for the people, not the corporations. https://t.co/NSXQ65Mtbb

Twitter these last few years has been a struggle for me anyway. I just look at my tl and feel tired, most days. Now that it's about to turn into an unrestricted firehose of bullshit, I'mma exercise my big-name-author privilege and jet. I'll watch the death throes from a distance.

(If you care, I'm still moderately active on Tumblr. Yeah, Tumblr. It's refreshing to be on a sm site whose owners, at least, aren't trying to turn me into some flavor of reactionary! And if I was the kind of person who cared about "cringe," I wouldn't have a career.)

So I'm gonna get an LA Times subscription for news, let friends send me the best memes and Black Twitter silliness, maybe pop up to announce a new book or movie deal, but otherwise go live my best life. Love to all of you except the haters.

(Said all this when Elmo bought the site, but stayed active just to watch the trainwreck. Now even the trainwreck bores me.)

Oh shit, forgot to say I'm on Patreon too! 😅 Can't do a "free" Patreon, but the entry point is $1 and I donate the money to charity. I don't do *much* there -- occasional livestreams and some original content. But I should mention it for completeness.

...Y'all. Please stop recommending Spoutible to me. I saw what happened when @courtneymilan asked some very reasonable questions that any pro writer needs to know. The questions were not answered to my satisfaction. 🚩🚩🚩
