CHIME: Copernicus Hyperspectral Imaging Mission for the Environment
— ESA Earth Observation (@ESA_EO) June 6, 2023
The CHIME mission will carry a unique visible to shortwave infrared spectrometer to help sustainable agricultural and biodiversity management, as well as soil property characterisation. pic.twitter.com/wnjKPe58CY -
CIMR: Copernicus Imaging Microwave Radiometer
— ESA Earth Observation (@ESA_EO) June 6, 2023
The CIMR mission will provide observations of sea-surface temperature, sea-ice concentration and sea-surface salinity. Additionally, it will also observe a wide range of other sea-ice parameters. pic.twitter.com/2y8AL2KznH -
CO2M: Copernicus Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide Monitoring
— ESA Earth Observation (@ESA_EO) June 6, 2023
The CO2M mission will measure atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by human activity. These measurements will reduce current uncertainties in estimates of emissions of carbon dioxide. pic.twitter.com/fqEPLnUsVu -
CRISTAL: Copernicus Polar Ice and Snow Topography Altimeter
— ESA Earth Observation (@ESA_EO) June 6, 2023
CRISTAL will measure and monitor sea-ice thickness and overlying snow depth. It will also measure and monitor changes in the height of ice sheets and glaciers around the world. pic.twitter.com/TwlB4lQkOL -
LSTM: Copernicus Land Surface Temperature Monitoring
— ESA Earth Observation (@ESA_EO) June 6, 2023
The LSTM mission will provide observations of land-surface temperature. The mission will support the agricultural user community for improving sustainable productivity at field-scale. pic.twitter.com/IZpkIkUfKy -
ROSE-L: Copernicus L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar
— ESA Earth Observation (@ESA_EO) June 6, 2023
The longer L-band signal can penetrate through vegetation, dry snow and ice. Thus, ROSE-L will support forest management, monitor polar ice sheets and ice caps, sea-ice extent in the polar region, and seasonal snow. pic.twitter.com/hGAJBPIcGt
