Climate Grifters and Misrepresenting the Science
Climate grifters come out of the woodwork to tell you that "it's not climate change". This blog looks at the science behind climate change and the increasing frequency and intensity of the heaviest rain events.

Whenever a climate extreme occurs, climate grifters come out of the woodwork to tell you that "it's not climate change".
They do this with strawman arguments and by misrepresenting the statements the science. -
To be clear: the science says: the frequency and intensity of the heaviest rain events is increasing b/c of climate change: pic.twitter.com/TwhXC4saAQ

This is both observationally and theoretically well established.https://t.co/QAKSz3ZBET

But grifters gonna grift ...

Climate grifter #1 shows a plot of 5-year average precipitation with no trend. This does not contradict an increase in frequency and intensity of the heaviest rain events. pic.twitter.com/0ra2ItkJMe -
Globally, total rainfall is constrained by the surface energy budget and we expect it to increase by a few percent per degree of warming and with large spatial variations. So this plot (showing little trend) is not inconsistent with what we expect for total precipitation.

Climate grifter #2 says "it's not a record". Again, this does not contradict an increase in frequency and intensity of the heaviest rain events. pic.twitter.com/DpHDRMLRV4
